Azovskiy 2 building is situated on Neva river Embankment and it is just 1 minute walk from Hermitage (Tsars Winter Palace) which is 1 building from it and from the Palace Square where the Russian Revolution took place in 1917. It is situated on the territory of Admiralty ( which now is base for Russian military-navy officers students). All sights are walking distance from Katyusha at Azovkiy 2 , so you don`t need to use buses or taxi. Also you can catch a boat "Meteor" to Summer Palace Peterhoff from Neva river Embankment which is stop in front of the Hermitage. This part of the historical centre is known as Golden Triangle. In Tsarist times, the majority of nobility lived in this area in palaces – most of which still exist today. Nevsky Prospect, the main thoroughfare of St. Petersburg is a short walking distance. The Neva Embankment with its spectacular views of the city islands fronts this building. If you have the opportunity, stroll along the embankment or along any of St. Petersburg`s rivers and canals to experience the full beauty of the city. Other sights near by: Palace Square, the Hermitage Museum, Peter and Paul Cathedral, the Russian Museum, Summer Garden, Savior on the Blood Cathedral, Kazansky Cathedral, St. Isaacs Cathedral, Admiralty. There are also many interesting shops along Nevsky Prospect as well as good restaurants and nightlife. If you are in the city during the white nights season, between mid May and mid August, don`t miss a chance to stroll along the embankment and watch the many bridges across the Neva rise – it is really a spectacular site that you will never forget. We have added some additional notes as there was many questions about it at the reception and prioror the booking:
* Air Conditioner at the main areas (reception, hallway)
* Double Glazed Windows
* Mosquitoes Nets on all windows:
* Switch Off on any central heating radiators in your room if it is too hot
* Very thick walls ( more then 1 meter thick ) this makes the rooms not too hot in Summer even when it is +30 C and not cold in the rooms with minus 30 C
* the rooms which are having the windows in the bathroom also have a warm floors so in case if it is too cold in the bathroom especially in winter you can switch the floors to warm up the floor
* there is no any disco club which is really close to the hotel but there is one about 15 min walk
* the hotel situated on the first floor so there is no need to use a lift
* the hotel is situated very centrally so during the celebrations like 1th and 9th of May there is a fireworks which you can watch just opposite the building.
* Each room takes the area in the range of 12.5 sm - 17 sm.
